Gulf Leadership in Artificial Intelligence Spurs Lebanon’s Private Sector

In my interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, I addressed a growing reality in our region: the Gulf is rapidly advancing in AI through massive national investments, while Lebanon continues to face structural barriers that slow adoption.
Despite these challenges, Lebanon’s private sector and exceptional talent remain powerful drivers of resilience.
Our greatest opportunity now is to build the infrastructure, governance frameworks, and digital foundations that can transform this talent into national competitiveness.
AI momentum in the region is accelerating and Lebanon must act decisively to remain part of the future.

في حديثي لصحيفة الشرق الأوسط، أكّدت أن دول الخليج تتقدّم بسرعة في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي بفضل الاستثمارات الحكومية الضخمة والبنى التحتية الرقمية المتطورة، بينما يواجه لبنان فجوة بنيوية واضحة وضعفاً في الجهوزية الرقمية على مستوى القطاع العام
ومع ذلك، يبقى رأس المال البشري اللبناني عنصر القوّة الأكثر ثباتاً: كفاءات عالية، خبرات رفيعة، وقدرة على المنافسة الإقليمية والعالمية رغم التحديات.
إن مستقبل الذكاء الاصطناعي في لبنان ممكن، لكنه يحتاج إلى قرار واضح، وإلى بيئة حاضنة تعتمد البنى التحتية، الحوكمة، ورؤية وطنية قادرة على تحويل هذا المخزون البشري إلى قيمة اقتصادية حقيقية
